Project The Postdoc will be in charge of establishing a new experimental facility for supercontinuum measurements at DTU Fotonik and for measurements of the noise properties of the source. One PhD project will deal with the measurement of supercontinuum generation in tapered PCFs and comparison with numerics to develop the optimum fiber structure. The other PhD project will focus on the important photodarkening problem with silica fibers exposed to UV light. Both PhD projects will have supervisors
from both DTU Fotonik and NKT Photonics A/S in Birkerød, who are the
world’s largest supplier of Supercontinuum light sources and photonic
crystal fibers. The projects are part of a DKK 6 million project supported by the Danish Agency for Science, Technology and Innovation. Candidates for the PhD scholarships should have a master's degree in engineering or a similar degree with an academic level equivalent to the master's degree in engineering. Candidates for the Postdoc position
should have academic qualifications equivalent to the PhD level. The candidate for the PhD project on
Photodarkening should preferably have experience with glass chemistry.
The other PhD candidate and the postdoctoral candidate should preferably
