Cand. Polyt Søren Raza tildeles DOPS Juniorpris 2011
DOPS bedømmelsesudvalg er kommet frem til følgende:
Søren Raza has in his excellent master-project addressed the phenomenon of nonlocal response in metals and investigated coupled-resonator optical waveguides and especially the importance of a finite Q-factor in relation to slow light.
In his research Søren has shown a very high level of independent work and has been able to analyze and describe the existing controversy between a published numerical hydrodynamical model and previous analytical studies. His results have recently been published in PBR (Rapid communications) and his interpretation has already received international attention and acceptance.
Søren has during his work shown a very high degree of determination, focus as well as the ability to communicate and to argue for his viewpoint on a very high level. His thesis received the excellent mark of 12/12 and Søren will continue his promising career in the field of optics as a PhD-student at DTU Fotonik.

Årets Juniorpris sponseret af Hamamatsu Photonics blev uddelt af Steen Feldskov fra Hamamatsu og DOPS' formand Steen Hanson ved årsmødet, der blev afholdt i Aarhus den 24'ende november.
